Ultherapy
At Rewind Aesthetic Clinic we use an innovative device called Ulthera® for our Ultherapy treatments.
The device has two components. The first is an ultrasound component for direct visualization of the layers of the skin and this is the only ultrasound machine on the market to do so. This allows the operator to directly view the layers of the skin during treatment to ensure the correct depth of treatment and avoid important structures such as blood vessels and nerves.
The second component is micro-focused ultrasound; two separate beams of ultrasound are focused under the skin at varying depths to create tiny pockets of heat. This denatures the collagen and tightens it, while stimulating the “builder cells” of the skin, fibroblasts, to produce new collagen.

Consultation: Your treatment begins with a thorough consultation Expect to be in clinic for 1 hour for target area treatments and 2-3 hours for full face and neck.
Photographs are taken prior to the procedure and you will have a full consutation with Dr. McDonnell who will consent you for the procedure. You will have the chance to discuss all the concerns your have pertaining the treatment before comencment.
Your face will be cleaned and topical aneasthetic will be applied for your comfort.
The area to be sanitised and marked out with grid lines which ensure a thorough and accurate treatment.
Different depth transducers will emmit pinpoint collaged under the skin using ultrasound guidance. Depending on the depth of your facial tissue upto 3 depths may be applied. The “shots” are described by most clients to feel hot and prickly, it is tolerated well by majority of clients.

Side effects for this treatment include redness and swelling which should subside withing 48 hours, longer with sensative skins. There may be some bruising and sensativity to some areas which should resolve itself as the skin heals.
Mild discomfort after a treatment is to be expected decreasing within a 2 week period.

It is important to note that the results from Ulthera® are not immediate as collagen stimulation takes at least 3 months.
From 3-6 months you should see a gradual tightening of your skin and improvement in your fine lines and wrinkles. Your complexion will improve and previously saggy skin will tighten.
These changes will continue to occur for up to 12 months after treatment.
