Unlike traditional Q-switched lasers that rely on photothermal (heat-based) action and nanosecond pulses, the PicoSure utilises picosecond technology, delivering ultra-short pulses of energy in trillionths of a second. This incredibly rapid pulse creates a unique PressureWave™ effect that shatters tattoo ink into tiny particles. These tiny fragments are then efficiently absorbed and eliminated by the body's natural immune system.

This superior technology allows for the effective removal of a wide spectrum of ink colors, including stubborn blues and greens, and can target tattoos that haven't responded to other laser treatments.

FAQs

  • During the consultation your clinician will assess your tattoo, discuss the treatment process, and answer your questions. 

    They will also evaluate your skin type and tattoo characteristics to determine the best treatment plan. 

    We encourage you to ask questions during this consultation to ensure you are comfortable with the information and treatment program discussed.

  • Avoid sun exposure on the tattoo for 2-4 weeks before treatment. 

    Please also ensure the treatment area is clean, free of lotions, makeup, and sunscreen. 

  • PicoSure laser tattoo removal sessions are often very quick (5-20 minutes), depending on the size of your tattoo.

    After your treatment, it's normal to experience some temporary redness and swelling. These minor side effects typically subside within a few days.

    To ensure proper healing and minimise any risk of infection, it's crucial to follow all post-treatment care instructions provided by your clinician. If in doubt, give us a call.

  • The cost and number of sessions needed vary based on factors like tattoo size, colors, and skin type.
